Cowboy Up and useful work
“Cowboy up” usually asks for grit. The work after the grit interests me: whether something damaged can do its job again. Tissue has no use for a stirring speech. Blood has to reach muscle; an injured surface has to close. I take that question into these papers; their answer for people remains unfinished.
The BPC-157 blood-vessel experiment has the attraction of following blood-flow recovery in rat muscle and tests a proposed mechanism by blocking part of it. KPV offers a different, wonderfully concrete endpoint in the rabbit corneal-wound study: closure of the surface at a stated time. Both make “recovery” less slippery.
The unfinished work
Those experiments earn my admiration; the human evidence still leaves me dissatisfied. The 2025 BPC-157 review describes only three small human pilots. KPV’s record here remains preclinical, including intestinal cells and mouse colitis. A broad reputation has grown around a much narrower set of observations.
That gap is the reason this site exists. A benefit tested against a comparison group, with a useful length of safety follow-up, would give this comeback argument something sturdier to stand on. More elegant pathway descriptions alone would leave the central question standing. So would a new anecdote about feeling better. There is plenty to be curious about before making the leap to a treatment claim.
